Monuments and points of interest in the surrounding area

All the historical buildings are characterized by the Byzantine origin of the settlement: the basilica of Santa Maria Assunta prior to the year 1000 and the Church of Santa Fosca are clear proofs of this.

Moreover, the museum of Torcello with its interesting archaeological section, the throne of Attila (probable backbench for the island’s rulers) and the bridge of the devil, one of the few that retains the characteristic lack of parapets, an original feature of all the venetian bridges.
